The head coach of the Irish cricket team, Henrik Mullan, has announced his resignation from his post after the historic T20 series win against India.
According to Cricket Ireland, the departure of the 45-year-old South African coach is part of an early transition plan, with a new boss to be appointed before the ODI series against Afghanistan in August.
Henrique Malan took charge of Ireland in 2022 and under his leadership the team achieved many historic victories.

During his tenure, Ireland defeated England in the 2022 T20 World Cup, achieved their first Test win against Afghanistan and in 2024 achieved their first Test win on home soil by beating Zimbabwe.
Their next match was against India in which Ireland won the T20 series against world champions India for the first time after winning by one run after a thrilling contest.
In his message, Mullan thanked the players, coaching staff and the Irish cricket community and said he would always remember the trip with fond memories.
Cricket Ireland also described his services as outstanding, saying he had provided a strong foundation for the team’s future.
