In the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the Netherlands defeated the Netherlands 3 goals to 1 in their last match of Group F, securing the first position in the group.
The Netherlands took the lead in just the third minute at the Kansas City Stadium, when Tunisian captain Elias Sukhiri headed the ball into his own goal.
After a few moments, Brian Bruby put the ball into the net in the 7th minute and increased his team’s lead to 0-2.
In the second half, Tunisia tried to come back and reduced the score in the 54th minute thanks to Hazim Misturi, but the Netherlands responded quickly and made the score 1-3 in the 62nd minute.
The win saw the Netherlands top Group F and will now face Morocco in the round of 32 in Monterrey on June 29, while Tunisia’s campaign, who were already eliminated from the event, ended in defeat.
The other Group F match was between Japan and Sweden, which ended in a 1-1 draw.
Matches played at the Dallas Stadium saw Japan draw 1-1 against Sweden in their final Group F match, while Sweden advanced to the next round as the third-best teams.
Both teams failed to score in the first half, but in the second half, Japan scored a goal in the 56th minute, but this match could not last long and Anthony Algana scored a goal for Sweden in the 62nd minute.
With the draw, Japan finished second in Group F and will face Group C winner Brazil in the round of 32.
