FIFA immediately suspended the membership of All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) due to third party interference and violation of FIFA rules.

According to the statement made by FIFA, this decision was made after long discussions and allegations of foreign interference in the administrative affairs of Nepali football. Before now, the National Sports Council had suspended ANFA for 3 months, but then this decision was postponed.

FIFA stated in its statement that the Council Bureau decided to suspend the membership of ANFA due to the clear intervention of third parties in accordance with article 14, article 1(i) and article 3 of the FIFA laws.

According to the announcement, the Nepal Football Association has lost all FIFA membership rights. As a result of this ban, Nepal’s national teams and clubs cannot participate in any international competitions until the ban is lifted.

FIFA also clarified that during the ban, ANFA, its member institutions and officials cannot benefit from the development programs, training courses and financial support of FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation.

FIFA has instructed its member organizations not to establish any sporting relationship with ANFA and its teams during the suspension.
