In the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, Pakistan Women’s Team failed to break their losing streak and lost to South Africa by 2 wickets in the second match of the tournament.

In the match played in Birmingham, Pakistan women’s team captain Fatima Sana won and decided to bat first, but the national batting line-up once again faced difficulties and the team came under pressure due to early wickets.

Half of the Pakistan team returned to the pavilion for just 29 runs, however, captain Fatima Sana played a responsible game and scored 55 runs, while Tuba Hasan scored 23 runs. Apart from these two, none of the batters could get into double figures. Pakistan scored 126 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

In pursuit of the target, South Africa also faced stiff resistance from the Pakistani bowlers, but the Proteas team lost 8 wickets in 17 overs and won the exciting match by 2 wickets.

It is the second consecutive defeat for Pakistan Women’s team in this tournament. Earlier, the Green Shirts suffered a 64-run defeat by arch-rivals India in their opening match.

Team Pakistan will now face Bangladesh in their next group match on June 20, where the national team will be looking to get their first win at the event.
