England kicked off their FIFA World Cup campaign in style, beating Croatia 2-4 in a thrilling encounter.
In the match that was played in Dallas, although the defensive weaknesses of England were evident, but in general, the English team showed an offensive game.
In the 12th minute of the match, Harry Kane gave England the lead with a penalty. Croatia goalkeeper Dominik Levakovic had initially saved a penalty, but it was re-awarded for going over the line and Kane made no mistake this time.
Croatia were level in the 36th minute thanks to a superb goal from Martin Baturina, but three minutes before the break, Harry Kane headed in a Declan Rice corner to give England the lead once again. It was Kane’s 10th World Cup goal.
Shortly before the end of the first half, Croatian player Peter Musa scored and the goals were tied again.
Jude Bellingham gave England the lead for the third time with a superb individual effort early in the second half, while substitute Marcus Rashford sealed the win with a last-minute goal.
