In the FIFA World Cup 2026, the national flag of Saudi Arabia was presented differently from the flags of other countries, which attracted the attention of the audience and the global media.
Normally, according to the FIFA competition protocol, the national flags of the participating teams are hung on the field, but instead of being placed on the ground, the flag of Saudi Arabia is hung in a high and visible place.
The reason for this special agreement is the word Tayyaba, which is the main symbol of the Islamic faith on the flag of Saudi Arabia.
It is worth mentioning that in Saudi Arabia, according to the traditions and religious laws of this country, it is not considered appropriate to place the flag on the ground or to use it in any way that creates the perception of dishonor.
In keeping with this religious and cultural sensitivity, the tournament organizers took a different approach to the Arabian flag, to preserve its sanctity and respect.
