Tunisia sacks head coach after losing FIFA World Cup opener

After losing their first match at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the African football team of Tunisia has fired its head coach Sabri Lamouche.

In this Group F match played in Mexico, Sweden defeated Tunisia 1-5 on Sunday.

However, the British media has now reported that according to the Tunisian Football Association, the French coach’s contract has been terminated by “mutual agreement”.

British media reports that coach Hervey Renard has been appointed as the new coach until the end of the World Cup.

The report also stated that Lamoche became the first coach in the history of the World Cup to be fired after just one match.
