West Indies beat Sri Lanka by 7 wickets in the first T20I

Kingston: In the first match of the three-match T20 series between West Indies and Sri Lanka, West Indies won by 7 wickets.

In the match played at Sabina Park in Jamaica, Sri Lanka won and decided to bat first and scored 147 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Kamindu Mendes was the leading batsman for Sri Lanka with 51 runs off 39 balls which included 4 fours and 2 sixes.

For West Indies, Jason Holder and Shemar Joseph dismissed 3 wickets each while Ruston Chase took one wicket.

Chasing the target, West Indies won the match by 7 wickets in the second ball of 20 overs. Home team captain Shai Hope remained unbeaten with 65 runs.

The second match of the series between the teams of the two countries will be played on June 14, and the third and final match will be played on June 15, followed by two test matches that will be played on June 25 and July 3.
