Bangladesh won an ODI match against Australia after 21 years

Fast bowler Naheed Rana also targeted the Australian team, with devastating bowling as Bangladesh beat Australia by 86 runs on the DSL method in the rain-affected first ODI.

The home team scored 284 runs for 8 wickets in 50 overs, Mossadegh Hussain remained unbeaten on 86 runs, Necemul Hasan Shanto 67 runs and Tanzeed Hussain 54 runs, Nathan Ellis dismissed 3 players.

The restart of play was delayed by rain during the innings break, after the start when Australia reached 191 for 9 in 42.2, play was halted due to bad weather preventing a restart.

By then Australia were 86 runs on DRS so it was declared a failure, Cameron Green not out on 52 runs, Naheed Rana caught 4.

It is worth mentioning that Bangladesh won ODI cricket against Australia after 21 years. Earlier, Bangladesh last beat Australia in an ODI match on June 18, 2005 in Cardiff.
