Somali referee Omar Ertan, who was going to the FIFA World Cup, was banned from entering the United States.

Speaking to the French news agency, the consultant of the Somali Sports Ministry claimed that the award-winning Somali referee Omar Ertan was not allowed to enter the United States during the FIFA World Cup.

According to Sports Advisor, Omar Ertan is the first Somali referee to represent Somalia in the FIFA World Cup and he was supposed to referee the matches scheduled for the tournament.

Somali officials say that barring Omer Ertan from participating in scheduled matches is not only a personal loss for him, but also against the principles of football and the spirit of the game.

He also said that because of this decision, the representation of Somalia on the world level has also been affected.
