The United States of America (USA) did not grant visas to the 15-person delegation of Iran for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
According to Iran’s official media, the United States has not issued visas for the entire team delegation, the necessary players and technical staff have been allowed, but so far around 15 important people of the team’s management and management have not been able to receive visas.
Among those who were not granted visas are Mehdi Taj, President of Iran Football Federation, team manager, media officer, security personnel and representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who are considered very important for the team.
American officials have confirmed that Iranian players will come to America to participate in the World Cup. U.S. officials said visas have been issued to Iranian players and essential support staff, but other officials’ cases are still pending.
The authorities of Iran, in response to this situation, asked FIFA to consider this matter and intervene.
On the other hand, Iran’s football team has arrived in Mexico to participate in the 2026 FIFA World Cup and will play its group stage matches here.
According to the schedule, Iran will play its first match against New Zealand on June 15 in Los Angeles and is expected to face Belgium in the same city.
