The Indian selectors are planning a new strategy keeping in mind the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics and the T20 World Cup to be held in Australia and New Zealand in the same year.
According to reports, the squad for the T20 matches against Ireland and England will be announced on Saturday.
Surya Kumar Yadav may also be left out of the team based on recent performances. He did not perform as expected in the 2026 T20 World Cup and IPL season.
On the other hand, Shreyas Iyer has shown successful batting and leadership in the last two seasons of IPL.
He led Kolkata Knight Riders to the title in 2024 and also played an important role in taking various franchises to the finals.
Meanwhile, 15-year-old batsman Vibhau Suryavanshi is likely to join the Indian team for the first time.
He scored 776 runs in IPL 2026 when the smoke blew and impressed everyone with his extraordinary skills.
