Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) player Tim David has been suspended for the first match of the upcoming IPL season.
According to Indian media reports, Tim David has been booked for violently throwing an ice bag at umpire Nitin Menon during the match against Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2026 final.
It was Tim David’s third Level 1 offence, which saw him fined 50 per cent of his match fee and given two demerit points, taking his tally to five demerit points and a one-match ban in the last 36 months.

The incident occurred in Gujarat’s tenth over when Jordan Cox’s catch from Washington Sundar failed.
It is an offense to throw the ball or cricket equipment in a dangerous or inappropriate manner towards a player, team official, umpire or any third person as per Rule 2.9 of the IPL Rules of Conduct.
It should be noted that Tim David has already committed two violations this season.
