The ICC approves major changes to the rules of cricket

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has approved major changes in the laws of cricket.

In the ICC Board Meeting held in India, important decisions were taken regarding the rules of cricket, women’s cricket and Canada.

Many important decisions were approved in the meeting.

Under the new ICC rule, the pink ball can be used in Test matches by mutual consent.

The umpires were also given access to Hawkeye’s data during the investigation of the alleged bowling action.

It was also decided in the meeting that the league-wide trial rule should be applied consistently.

It has been decided that the 2027 Women’s Championship will be held between February 14 and 28 instead of June, July.

The ICC suspended Cricket Canada’s membership due to the irregularities, but Canada’s national teams will remain eligible to participate in ICC events during the suspension.

In the meeting, the ICC Board also expressed its concern over the growing spread of franchise cricket.

Two representatives of the ICC Board will also visit Bangladesh where they will interact with the stakeholders regarding the situation in Bangladesh including the BCB selection process.
