Brazil star footballer Neymar may miss the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers as he suffered another injury.

According to reports, it may take two to three weeks for Neymar to fully recover from the injury, which makes his participation in the opening match of the World Cup doubtful.

Neymar, 34, suffered the injury on May 17 during Santos’ 3-0 loss to Curitiba.

The next day, Brazil’s new coach, Carlo Ancelotti, included him in the World Cup squad, much to the delight of the fans.

Carlo Ancelotti said Neymar’s fitness is being monitored constantly and his physical condition has clearly improved in recent months.

He said that Neymar is an important player of the team and his role in the World Cup will be very important.

After Brazil team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar confirmed the injury, midfielder Casemiro also wished Neymar a speedy recovery.

He said that the fitness of every player is important for the team.

It is worth mentioning that Brazil is placed in Group C and has to play matches against Morocco on June 13, Haiti on June 19 and Scotland on June 24.
