The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) highlighted national team captain Imad Shakeel Butt and penalty corner specialist Sufyan Khan as the astroturf of the National Hockey Stadium in Lahore was slow.

PHF has started consultation with Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) to renovate hockey arenas in Lahore and Karachi.

Additional funds have been provided through government support, public private partnerships and corporate sponsors to provide the best to athletes at the national and international level.

It should be noted that a few days ago Pakistan Hockey team captain Imad Shakeel Butt and defender Sufyan Khan accused the astroturf of the National Hockey Stadium in Lahore for the players’ speed.

He said that the less use of the Lahore pitch was the reason for the lack of pace of the players.

On the other hand, the PHF imposed a ban on the foreign visits of the federal officials at the expense of the government.

According to sources, due to the austerity campaign, the coaching staffs of the Pro Hockey League along with the senior national team have also been reduced.
