Ahead of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, Bangladesh cricket team captain Nigar Salta expressed her determination and said that her team has become stronger than the previous T20 World Cup and is determined to change history in the next edition.

Nigar Sultana said that the Bangladeshi team is going into the tournament with confidence after being unbeaten in the recent T20 World Cup, while the team will enter the field with a better combination despite having only one win in the last World Cup.

He added that compared to last year, the team has more options in both the batting and bowling departments and the aim is to win more matches with better performance at the international level.

Referring to the 16-run win over Scotland in the 2024 T20 World Cup in Sharjah, Nigar Sultana said that the win against Scotland boosted the morale of the team, even though there were no wins in other matches after that.

Nigar Sultana said in the continuation of her speech that we have been deprived of success in the World Cup for a long time, but I consider it difficult to change history instead of pressure.

It is worth mentioning that the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup starts from June 12 in Birmingham and the opening match will be played between the hosts England and Sri Lanka and the Bangladesh team will start their campaign against the Netherlands on June 14.
