Karachi: Former Pakistan cricket team captain Shoaib Malik offered a solution to improve Pakistan’s Test cricket.

Shoaib Malik expressed his opinion on social media platform ‘X’ after Pakistan’s recent disappointing performance in Test cricket and said that the authorities should turn to red ball specialists, for which better contracts and central incentives are needed.

He says that professional red-ball players should be given better financial incentives to reinvigorate Test cricket.

Shoaib Malik, who has played 287 ODIs, 35 Tests and 124 T20I matches for Pakistan, believes that financial security will keep players connected to first-class cricket and will reduce unnecessary inclination towards franchise leagues.

Shoaib Malik said that to strengthen Red Ball Cricket we should give attractive Red Ball contracts to talented players.

He further stated that such concessions will keep the players committed to the longer format and committed to playing at least 5 first-class matches every season, while also avoiding changing their natural playing ability under the pressure of franchise cricket.

Shayib Malik emphasized the need to raise the standard at the international level and said that there is a clear difference between the needs of domestic and international cricket.

He said that success at the international level is not possible with half preparation, we need fully prepared and committed players.

It is worth mentioning that these suggestions on the name of Shoaib Malik came when Pakistan under the captaincy of Shan Masood faced the Bangladesh cricket team in the 2-match Test series.
