Report: Feyzan Lakhani. Zakia River Ahmed, an Afghan woman seeking asylum in Australia, made history by climbing Mount Everest, the highest peak in the world.

Zakiya Ahmed is the first woman from Afghanistan to climb the highest peak of 8848 meters, she reached the top of Mount Everest today at 07:20 in the morning.

Zakiya Ahmed moved to Australia some time ago because of the situation in Afghanistan.

He received permission to climb Mount Everest based on Australian documents, Zakia is from Ghazni province, Afghanistan.
