The visiting team scored 200 runs for the loss of 5 wickets by the break of tea on the fourth day of the second Test match between Pakistan and Bangladesh in Sylhet.
After Dhaka, now in Sylhet, Pakistan’s struggling team needs 237 more runs to win, which now looks difficult to achieve.
Today the fourth day was started by Pakistani opener Azan Oweys and Abdullah Fazal, but Abdullah Fazl scored a total of 27 runs by 6 runs and was the victim of Naheed Rana. After that, Azan Owais could only manage 21 runs in a total of 41 innings.
The Pakistan team suffered the third defeat in the form of Babar Azam and the total score of the team was 133.
The captain of the national team, Shan Masood, seemed to hold back a little, but after playing 71 runs for a total of 162, he fell victim to Tej Salam and returned to the dugout where half of the Pakistan team was defeated.
Muhammad Rizwan 15 and Salman Ali Akha 25 are now on the coast for Pakistan and Pakistan need 237 more runs to win.
As for the start of the Sylhet Test, Pakistan captain Shan Masood prevailed and invited hosts Bangladesh to bat first, in response to the home team scoring 278 runs in their first innings.
In the first innings for Bangladesh, wicketkeeper batsman Liton Das was the leading batsman with 126 runs off 159 balls which included 16 fours and 2 sixes.
On behalf of Pakistan, Khurram Shehzad dismissed 4 players, Muhammad Abbas 3 and Hasan Ali 2 players and Sajid Khan took one player to the pavilion.
On the other hand, in the first innings, Babar Azam became the famous batsman of Pakistan with 68 runs, he hit 10 fours and spinner Sajid Khan was the second highest scorer with 38 runs from 28 balls with the help of 4 sixes and 2 fours.
In the second matches, Mushfiqur Rahim scored 137 runs, Latini Das scored 69 runs and Mehmoodul Hasan Joy scored 52 runs on behalf of Bangladesh.
In Bangladesh’s second match, Khurram Shahzad dismissed 4 players, Sajid Khan took 3 wickets and Hasan Ali and Muhammad Abbas took 2 wickets and 1 wicket respectively.
The Bangladesh team scored 390 runs in their second innings on the third day of play and defeated Pakistan by 46 runs to 437 runs.
Here it is worth mentioning that at the end of the third day, the bowling coach of the Pakistan Cricket team Umer Gul said in a press conference that if we bat continuously for 2 days, we have a chance to win the match.
He said, we are mentally ready to achieve the goal and we will try, two or three good partnerships should take place to achieve the goal of 437 steps.
It is worth mentioning that the first match of the two-test series of the ICC world test matches was played in Mirpur city of Dhaka in which Pakistan had to lose by 104 runs and now the national team is struggling for victory in Sylhet.
