English county club Yorkshire has signed a contract with Pakistani all-rounder Faheem Ashraf.

Yorkshire County Cricket Club have confirmed that Faheem Ashraf has been included in the squad following the injury to Australian all-rounder Will Sutherland.

Fahim Ashraf, 32, will be available for Yorkshire during the group stages of the Vitality Blast, which takes place for the seventh and eighth rounds of the Rothesay County Championship.

In his statement Faheem Ashraf said that he is very happy to have signed from Yorkshire, many Pakistani players have represented the club and he has always praised the atmosphere of the club and the quality of the team. Now I’m excited to get to Headingley.

Yorkshire general manager Gavin Hamilton said Faheem Ashraf is an experienced multi-format player who will be a key asset to the team.

Gavin Hamilton said Faheem Ashraf has the ability to run at lower numbers and impact the match with the ball.

It is worth mentioning that Faheem Ashraf has played 17 Tests and 85 T20 international matches for Pakistan. He recently became the second all-rounder in Pakistan Super League history to cross 1000 runs and 100 wickets while representing Islamabad United.
