Dhaka Test: Final Day Bangladesh start the day with a lead of 179 runs

The hosts started the day with a lead of 179 runs on the final day of the first Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh at the Sher Bangla Stadium.

On behalf of the host team, captain Nejamul Hasan Shinto scored 58 and Mushfiqur Rahim scored 16 runs on the wicket, Mahmud Hasan scored 5 runs, Shadman Islam scored 10 runs and Mominul Haq scored 56 runs.

Bangladesh scored 152 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in their second innings, while the home team scored 413 runs in the first innings. Najam-ul-Hasan Shanto scored 101, Momin-ul-Haq 91 and Mushfiqur-Rahim scored 71 runs.

In the first matches against Bangladesh, Mohammad Abbas dismissed 5 wickets, Shaheen Afridi took 3 wickets and Hasan Ali and Numan Ali took one wicket each.

Pakistan team scored 386 runs in response to 413 runs and lost by 27 runs.

Azhan Oweys won with 103 runs, Abdullah Fazl 60, Muhammad Rizwan 59 and Salman Ali Akha with 58 runs, including Imamul Haq 45 runs and Shahin Shah Afrini 13 runs.

On behalf of Bangladesh, Mehdi Hasan Miraz took 5 wickets while showing good bowling performance while Tasin Ahmed and Tejul Islam also dismissed 2 wickets each.

At the end of the fourth day of play, Salman Ali Akha while holding a press conference said that they will try to knock out Bangladesh as soon as possible on the fifth day.

“If Bangladesh show courage and target 260 runs in 70 overs, then we will definitely go for victory but I don’t think they will do it,” he said.

Salman Ali said at the beginning that I personally want them to give us 260 goals in 60 to 70 rounds, but it doesn’t seem like that.
