The first one-day international match between the women’s cricket teams of Pakistan and Zimbabwe in hot weather will be played at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi today.

The series consists of three ODIs, which are part of the ICC Women’s Championship 2025-29. The ODI match will start at 15:30.

Fatima Sana will be the captain of the Pakistan team. Pakistan is fifth in the ICC Women’s Championship rankings.

It is worth mentioning that this series will give the team an opportunity to improve their preparations before the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup to be held in England and Wales.

Captain Fatima Sana said that this series is a great opportunity for us to make a strong start in the 2025-2029 ICC Women’s Championship. Our preparations are complete and the actors are clear about their roles.

He said bowling attack is our strength, we are working harder to keep batting.

On the other hand, Zimbabwe captain Nomwelo Sibanda says that this tour is a historic moment for us because it is the first visit of the Zimbabwean women’s team to Pakistan, the players are excited and looking forward to competing in different conditions.

Meanwhile, the comment panel of the series has been revealed. The panel includes former Zimbabwean cricketer Tenotenda Mavio, former captain Salman Butt, Ali Younis, Ayman Anwar and Kainat Imtiaz. The matches will be telecast live on Match Geo Super.

The second and third matches between the women’s cricket teams of the two countries will be played on May 6 and 9, after which the three-match T20 series will be played on May 12, 14 and 15 in Karachi.
