The Bangladesh Cricket Board has announced the 15-member squad for the first Test against Pakistan, which will be played from May 8 at the Sher Bangla Stadium in Dhaka.
The Bangladesh team led by Najamul Hasan Shinto and Mehdi Hasan Miraz will also be vice-captains. These matches are part of the 2025-27 ICC World Test Championship cycle.
It is worth noting that two new players have been included for the first time in the two-Test series against Pakistan, with Tanzad Hasan and Amit Hasan joining the national test team for the first time.
Fast bowlers Tasin Ahmed and Sharif Islam also returned to the Test team, while Naeem Hasan was included in the Red Ball team.
Necemul Hasan Shinto, Mehmoodul Hasan Joy, Shadman Islam, Mominul Haq, Mushfiqul Rahim, Liton Doss, Mehdi Hasan Miraz, Tejul Islam, Neem Hasan, Ibadet Hussain, Sharif Islam, Tasin Ahmed, Nehid Rana, Tanzid Hasan and Amit Hasan.
It is worth mentioning that Bangladesh is currently ranked 8th in the World Test Championship points table, while Pakistan is ranked 5th.
The first Test match between Pakistan and Bangladesh teams will be played at Sher Bangla Stadium from May 8, while the second Test will be played at Sylhet from May 16.
