Bangladesh won the three-match ODI series against New Zealand 1-2. In the deciding match, the home team clinched the series by defeating the Kiwi team with an excellent all-round performance.
Both the series matches of the teams of the two countries were held in the city of Mirpur, in the first match the visiting team won by 26 runs, in the second match Bangladesh came back in an interesting way and won by 6 wickets.
The deciding and third match of the series was played in Chittagong, where New Zealand won and decided to take the field first. In reply, the host team scored 265 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 50 overs. Necemul Hasen Shinto scored 105 runs consisting of 9 fours and 2 sixes.
The Kiwi team scored 210 runs in 45 overs and thus lost the series by 55 runs. Bangladeshi fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman played a key role in his team’s victory and took 5 players to the pavilion with devastating bowling.
Najamul Hasan Shinto was man of the match for his excellent century, while young pacer Nahid Rana took 8 wickets in the entire series and won the player of the series award.
It is worth mentioning that now 3 T20 matches will be played between New Zealand and Bangladesh, the first two matches will be played in Chitogram and the last one will be played in Mirpur. The three T20 matches will be played on April 27, April 29 and May 2 respectively.
