The West Indies Championship match was abandoned due to a dangerous pitch.

The match between the Leeward Islands and Trinidad and Tobago was being played at the Vivian Richards Stadium, but the second match of the championship was abandoned due to the dangerous condition of the pitch.

Play was suspended in the first session on the third day, when the pitch was uneven and unpredictable, with serious concerns about the safety of the players from the bounce.

Meanwhile, Leeward Island player Jeremyha Lewis was badly hit by a ball from Jayden Seals, after the player was taken to hospital after being treated on the ground.

The cricketer’s link test was also conducted, but his condition is now said to be better in the hospital.

According to Cricket West Indies, all measures to make the pitch in good condition will be ensured till the next match at this ground.
