Boston Marathon: Impressive performance by Pakistanis, Muhammad Amjad Ali was the fastest Pakistani runner

Report: Feyzan Lakhani. Pakistani runners have once again demonstrated their talent at the international level with an impressive performance in the 2026 Boston Marathon.

Thirteen runners from Pakistan and the Pakistani community living abroad successfully completed one of the world’s most prestigious marathons on Monday.

Muhammad Amjad Ali, a policeman from Karachi, was among the Pakistani participants, Amjad finished the race in 2 hours 42 minutes 45 seconds, becoming Pakistan’s fastest runner of the year.

Muhammad Amjad said that this was his first World Marathon and he was very happy with his good time, according to him the ups and downs on the race track were difficult but he was satisfied with his performance and thanked all the supporters.

Amjad said that this was the first World Marathon Major, Alhamdulillah he also became the fastest Pakistani to finish the Boston Marathon, he thanked all those who supported him in this journey.

American Seyid Hamze was second with a time of 2 hours and 51 minutes and 6 seconds, and Nizar Niyani was third with a time of 3 hours and 1 minute and 44 seconds.

Norwegian-Pakistani Muhammed Fasih Salih won the best with 3 hours 10 minutes and 36 seconds, Shahzad Hussain who is of British origin and Bashiri Anjum also showed an impressive performance, Pakistani female runner Maheen Sheikh also won the best in this competition.

Faseeh Saleh said finishing the Boston Marathon with a personal best was a memorable moment for him as he completed his journey as a six-star finisher in the Abbott World Marathon.

He said that I am grateful to the Pakistani running community for always encouraging me and helping me push my limits.

Apart from Faseeh Saleh, three other Pakistani runners also completed the 6-star journey.

After injuring his knee, Bilal Ahsan completed his race in Boston in three hours and thirty three minutes.

Bilal Ahsan said that the Boston Marathon was very good, Alhamdulillah completed it on time. The course, the atmosphere and the weather were great, definitely one of the great marathons in the world.

“It wasn’t very important for me in terms of race time because I came back from injury, it was just about finishing and getting the 6 star medal,” he said. Bilal named the competition after his family and Islamabad Running Club and said that all this is possible only with their support.

Naushirwan Ali from Karachi completed the race in 4:15:33 and became the six-star champion. He said his journey started from just being fit to goals and self-realization, which motivated him to become a better person.

He said, I always dedicate myself to my wife, children, friends and all the people who supported me during my difficult time. Your support got me here.

Dr Jahanzeb Mughal from Karachi completed the race in 5:01:39 and joined the 6 star list.
