In the 28th match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) XI, Multan Sultans defeated Karachi Kings by 11 runs.
In the match played at Karachi National Stadium, Multan Sultans beat Karachi Kings in an exciting match, Karachi needed 18 runs from the last 6 balls to win, but the team failed to reach the target of 208 runs and were all out for 196 runs.
Hasan Ali hit Karachi Kings hard in the last minute and scored 23 runs off just 10 balls, which included two brilliant sixes, but he failed to lead the team and was dismissed on the fourth ball of the 20th over for trying to get the second run.
Before now, Ebas Afridi played with smoke and scored 34 runs from 16 balls, which included 3 fours and 2 sixes. He kept Karachi’s hopes alive, but exited at a crucial time.
Reza Hendricks of Karachi Kings scored 49 runs and Abbas Afridi scored 34 runs.
Karachi Kings showed strong resistance till the end, but Multan Sultans played better under pressure and won.
Arafat Minhas took 3 wickets and Peter Siddle took 2 wickets for Multan Sultans.
Earlier, Multan Sultans batted brilliantly in the last overs scoring 207 runs for 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. In the final moments of the innings, Muhammad Imran changed the direction of the match with an aggressive approach and scored 28 runs in just 6 balls.
On behalf of Multan Sultans, Shaan Masood strengthened the team’s position with an electric knock of 46 runs, Josh Phillipe scored 44 and Owais Zafar led the way with 36 runs.
Khush Dil Shah took 3 wickets and Moeen Ali took two wickets for Kings Karachi.
