The International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Anti-Corruption Unit has launched an investigation into allegations of corruption in Canada.
According to reports, the investigation is ongoing on two separate sides, including the match between Canada and New Zealand in the Men’s T20 World Cup.
This revelation came out in the documentary called ‘Corruption, Crime and Cricket’ of the Canadian program ‘The Fifth Estate’.
According to the documentary, a period in this match is considered suspicious when captain Dilpreet Bajwa bowled in an unusual manner and gave away an extra run.

On the other hand, an audio recording is also under investigation in which former coach Khurram Chauhan alleged that the board officials pressured the selection of the team.
Former coach Pabdu Dassanayake also made similar allegations saying that he was forced to bring in some players and he was threatened with termination if he refused.
In addition, Cricket Canada has also faced problems such as administrative crisis, financial problems and late payment of players.
Anti-corruption officials say they cannot comment on these cases, but will continue to investigate any areas where the integrity of the game is threatened.
