PSL11; Karachi Kings worst defeat at home

In the 17th match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11, Karachi Kings proved to be their worst ever defeat against Peshawar Zalmi by 159 runs.

In the match played at Karachi National Stadium, Karachi Kings captain David Warner invited Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam to bat first and decided to field.

Peshawar Zalmi, who was batting first, scored 246 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in the allotted 20 overs and gave Kings Karachi 247 runs to win.

On behalf of Peshawar Zalmi, Sri Lankan batsman Kaushal Mendes scored 109 and captain Babar Azam scored 87 runs and Iftikhar Ahmed and Shareful Islam took a wicket each for Kings Karachi.

Chasing Peshawar Zalmi’s target of 247 runs, the entire Karachi Kings team collapsed for 87 runs in 16.1 overs. On behalf of Kings, Azam Khan top scored with 25 runs while Saad Baig scored 14 runs to become the second leading batsman.

Due to Peshawar Zalmi’s disastrous bowling, 8 players of Karachi Kings could not even get into double figures. Iftikhar Ahmed, Safian Moqim and Nahid Rana each took 3 wickets and Sharaful Islam took one wicket.

It is worth mentioning that David Warner, the captain of Karachi Kings from Australia, arrived in Karachi today from Sydney and is leading the team.

Karachi Kings also made a change in game 11 and replaced Hasan Ali with fast bowler Muhammad Hamza in the team.
