The Irish Cricket Board has announced that it will play the series against Afghanistan this year.
According to the announcement of the board of Ireland, a series of 5 ODI matches against Afghanistan will be held from August 5 to August 14, and the decision of this series was accepted in a special meeting of the board.
The board’s chief executive Sarah Kane says that Ireland has invited not only the Afghan men’s team, but also the exiled Afghan women’s team to play in Ireland to highlight their issues on an international level.
Sarah Cain said that in her opinion, if such teams are ignored, their cause will be lost.
On the other hand, the Irish board also announced the domestic international schedule for 2026, which includes a Test against New Zealand and two T20Is against India.
Apart from this, the Ireland team will also play a T20 series against West Indies and Pakistan.
The Irish board also announced that they will visit Pakistan early next year, which will include a Test match.
