Report: Sayyid Yehya Hosseini. Three months have passed since the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2025-26, the country’s biggest first-class cricket tournament managed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The event was played from October 6 to December 5, 2025, where 10 teams participated. Under the captaincy of Saud Shakeel, Karachi Blues beat defending champions Sialkot in the final.
A total of 226 players from 10 regions played in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. Among them 24 players included in PCB Central Contract 2025-26 also played the country’s biggest first-class tournament, while six central contract players, Abrar Ahmed, Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi (category B), Faheem Ashraf (category C) and Ahmed Daniyal, Salman Mirza (category D) did not play in the first Quza-Trophy tournament. 2025-26.
226 players from ten regions who participated in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy were distributed by the Pakistan Cricket Board on March 10, 2026 as payment checks of Rs. However, the players who are part of the PCB Central Contract 2025-26 are still awaiting full payment three months after the completion of the country’s biggest first-class cricket tournament.
As per clause 9.6 of the Pakistan Cricket Board Central Agreement on page 25, the player covered by the PCB Central Agreement is paid Rs. However, the central contract players have received payment checks of Rs 30,000 match fee.
When contacted, PCB Home Director Khurram Niazi confirmed that match fee checks of Rs 30,000 have been issued to central contract players.
However, he added that the board will only pay 6 million and 28 thousand and 898 dollars per match to the central contract players.
He said that so far the players have been paid against the domestic match salary and at the end of the season they will be paid the balance share against the central contract.
