Drama ensued in the second semi-final of the National T20 Cup in Peshawar when the match was postponed due to rain and eventually abandoned, with the Abbottabad team progressing to the final on points and a better average.
Lahore Whites batting first in the match, performed brilliantly and scored 194 runs in the allotted overs and set Abbottabad a target of 195 runs to win.
On behalf of Lahore Whites, Imran Dogar scored 62 runs off 31 balls while batting aggressively.
Apart from them, Muhammad Akhlaq 42, Farhan Yusif 33 and Muhammad Mohsin also scored 24 runs.
On behalf of Abbottabad, Shahab Khan took 4 wickets for 28 runs while bowling carefully.
However, due to the rain, the Abbottabad matches could not start and the referees announced the cancellation of the match after a long time.
Thus, as per the rules of the tournament, the Abbottabad team qualified for the finals on the basis of better points and run rate.
Abbottabad will now face Karachi Whites in the final of the National T20 Cup, after which cricket fans are waiting for a thrilling contest.
