According to reports, 33-year-old Atifa Ramznesidah and 21-year-old Fatima Hafirat joined the A-League club Brisbane Roar and both players participated in long training sessions with other members of the team.
The Brisbane Roar Football Club also shared photos of two female Iranian footballers on social media and welcomed them.
The club’s management said Fatima Fassaf and Atifa Ramznisada are welcome to use the club’s training facilities and train with the club’s A-League women’s teams and will fully support the two footballers moving forward.
Fatima Hefisat said in her social media post: “Everything will be fine.”
According to the Australian media, 7 members of the Iranian women’s football team applied for asylum in Australia, but then 5 of them withdrew their request and joined the rest of the team in Kuala Lumpur.
According to reports, some players of the Iranian women’s football team were criticized in Iran for not singing the national anthem of the Asian Women’s Cup in Iran and were called “traitors during the war” and after that the members of this team were asked to seek asylum in Australia.
