Bangladesh fast bowler Naheed Rana, who took 5 wickets in the first ODI against Pakistan, credited former Pakistan team coach and now Bangladesh bowling coach Sean Tait for this feat.
In the first match of the ODI series played in Mirpur, Bangladesh beat Pakistan by 8 wickets. In this match fast bowler Naheed Rana showed good bowling and dismissed 5 Pakistan players namely Sahibzada Farhan, Shamail Hasan, Muaz Sedeqat, Muhammad Rizwan and Salman Ali Akha and played an important role in reducing Pakistan team’s 114 runs.
The 23-year-old Bangladesh fast bowler spoke to the media after the match and said that Shaun Tait has played an important role in his career and has given him a lot of confidence.
He said that Sean Tait is an amazing coach because he treats the players not only as a coach but also as a friend, whenever the team needs something, he immediately helps and always advises the players to play to their strengths.
He said that the coach often says that whatever is needed, feel free to tell him, he will provide guidance, while it is the responsibility of the players to win the match by implementing the plan on the field, he constantly motivates the team and gives the best guidance.
Naheed Rana said he is more focused on improving his bowling line and length rather than adding pace as skill is more important than pace in international cricket.
On the other hand, Pakistan’s head coach Mike Hesson praised the performance of the Bangladeshi fast bowler and said: Nahid Rana challenged Pakistan’s batting line with his speed and changed the direction of the match.
He said Pakistan’s batting was going well until Naheed Rana came to bowl, but his aggressive bowling turned the game around.
In the first ODI against Bangladesh, Pakistan was invited to bat first, on which the Pakistani batsmen failed to show a good performance and were dismissed in the 31st over after scoring 114 runs. The host team lost 2 wickets in 15.1 overs while chasing the target.
