Pakistan hockey team captain Imad Butt said that the semi-final match against Japan is very important for the national team and the players want to give the nation the gift of playing in the World Cup by winning the match.
In a video message sent from Egypt, Imad Butt said that the team has won three consecutive victories in the competition and this boosts the morale of the players.
He said he will play his heart out in the semifinals to reach the finals. The team was given the best opportunities in the World Cup competitions.
The National Team Captain thanked PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi for his full support and said that Pakistan government listened to us and got positive results.
He said that all the players of the team are determined to give glory to the country and hope that the Pakistan team will win with the prayers of the nation.
It is worth mentioning that the Pakistan team will face Japan in the semi-final on Friday and the victory of the national team in the match will give them a direct ticket to the World Cup. Pakistan last played the World Cup in 2018.
It is worth mentioning that if Pakistan fails to win in the semi-final, it has to win in the third place match and if the Pakistan hockey team loses in the third place match, its qualification to the World Cup will depend on the results of the semi-final of the second round in Chile.
Pakistan’s hockey team has won the first three matches of the World Cup. In the first match, the Pakistan team defeated China with 5 goals to 4, and in the second match, they beat Malaysia 5 to 3 and in the third match, they defeated Austria with 4 goals and 2 goals.
