Pakistan cricket team opener Fakhar Zaman, who played a torrid innings against Sri Lanka in the ICCT World Twenty20, suffered an abdominal injury as he was ruled out of the Bangladesh tour.
It should be noted that this month Pakistan team will tour Bangladesh which includes 3 ODI matches and Fakhar Zaman will undergo rehabilitation at National Cricket Academy (NCA) to regain fitness.
The Pakistan ODI team will arrive in Dhaka, Bangladesh on March 9 and will participate in the practice session on March 10, after which the first ODI match will be played on March 11, the second on March 13 and the third on March 15 and all these matches will be played at the Sher Bangla Stadium.
It is worth mentioning that this will be Pakistan’s second visit to Bangladesh after July 2025, the T20 International series played in July 2025 was won by Bangladesh.
In May/June 2025, Bangladesh toured Pakistan and under the captaincy of Salman Ali Agha, Pakistan won the T20I series 3-0.
It should be noted that it is also shown that the tension in the region may affect the visit of Pakistan’s cricket team to Bangladesh.
According to the sources, if the current situation does not increase the risks and concerns of tourism, it is expected that the tour will be carried out according to the schedule.
According to sources, young players are likely to be included in the ODI squad to build a strong squad, while players who are rarely released in the T20 format, Saim Ayub, Babar Azam and Muhammad Nawaz will replace the young players.
According to sources, Muaz Sadaqat, Shamil Hussain and Saad Masood are likely to join the ODI team.
