After the US air attack, Iran announced that they will withdraw from the soccer World Cup

Iran qualified for the World Cup for the fourth time in a row by finishing first in the Asian competition group.

The head of the Iran Football Federation, Mehdi Taj, stated that it seems difficult to participate in the tournament in the current situation.

In the World Cup, Iran has to play its first match against New Zealand in Los Angeles after 107 days.

On the other hand, FIFA officials say that they are monitoring the situation and that a safe World Cup is their main task.

Iran are drawn in Group G with Belgium, New Zealand and Egypt and could meet in Dallas on July 3 if Iran and the United States finish second in their respective groups.

It is worth mentioning that the FIFA World Cup will be held from June 11 to July 19 this year in America, Mexico and Canada.
