Karachi:

Pakistan’s chances of reaching the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2026 have dwindled but not completely ended.

After the defeat to England, Pakistan should win their last match and the results of other matches will go in favor of Pakistan.

Pakistan will play their final match of the Super 8 stage against Sri Lanka on February 28. Now, Pakistan have one point but England are already in the semi-finals.

Pakistan must beat Sri Lanka to reach the semi-finals to complete the three points. However, the win alone is not enough, the results in New Zealand will also be important. If New Zealand lose the remaining two matches, Pakistan can enter the semi-finals in second place.

If Pakistan wins but New Zealand wins one match, both teams will get three points each and the semi-final place will be awarded based on the net score.

On the other hand, if Pakistan loses against Sri Lanka or the match is postponed, they will be out of the semifinals.

Experts say that in the other Super 8 group, England have already secured a place in the semi-finals, so Pakistan’s chances now depend on their next match and net run rate.
