The opening match of the Super Eights stage of the T20 World Cup is being played today between Pakistan and New Zealand.

According to details, Pakistan and New Zealand will face the second major challenge of the event in the scheduled match at KR Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

In the group stage, both teams reached the Super Eight with wins against weaker opponents, while both teams lost against strong opponents in their respective groups.

Between October 2022 and April 2025, the two teams have met a total of 41 times.

The biggest challenge for the New Zealand team will be the change of location. He has played all his four matches so far in Chennai and Ahmedabad.

On the other hand, the Pakistan team has played only one match against India at the R Premadasa stadium, while the remaining three matches have been played at the Sindh Sports Club in Colombia.

The main competition in the match will be Pakistan’s spin bowling and New Zealand’s batting. The Kiwi team has lost only 14 wickets in the 4 matches played so far.

The match between the two teams will start at 18:30 Pakistan time.
