The most awaited T20 World Cup 2026 Group A match between Pakistan and India on February 15 at the R Prema Dasa Stadium in Colombo broke many records as expected after the Pakistani government withdrew its decision to boycott.
According to Indian media, Jiostar, the official digital and broadcast partner of the T20 World Cup 2026, announced that the match played between India and Pakistan created history in terms of reach and viewership on its platform.
The match garnered a record 163 million digital reaches, the highest reach of a match at any ICC event in T20-style cricket, surpassing the audience of the 2024 T20 World Cup Final between India and South Africa in Barbados, the report said.
India’s 61-run win also ensured a 56% increase in reach on the Pakistan-India T20 World Cup 2024 match on the digital platform.
The match also had the highest reach of any ICCT20 event in the league stage on mobile, which was 1.2 times higher than the last match between India and Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2024.

The match between the rival teams was watched by a higher number of viewers on Jiohot Star and the viewership on CTV was 2.4 times higher than the 2024 India-Pakistan match, the report said.
It was also reported that the match achieved a total of 20 billion minutes of viewing time, resulting in a 42% increase over the previous edition of the match.
Anoop Govindan, Head of Sales, Sports, Jiostar, said the pre-match and pre-match of the T20 World Cup 2026 had all the makings of a mega tournament, with record reach and viewership reflecting the extent to which fans around the world engaged with the tournament on various platforms.
He said that the tournament has so far provided thrilling moments to the fans around the world and the response to the Pak-India match is the basis for a spectacular T20 World Cup 2026.
