In the 2026 ICCT Twenty20 World Cup, Zimbabwe’s African team was paired with India, West Indies and New Zealand. Of course, six reached the Super Eight.

In the Group B match played in Colombo, Zimbabwe defeated Sri Lanka by 6 wickets.

Zimbabwe eventually reached the target of 179 runs set by Sri Lanka. Brian Bennett scored an unbeaten 63 runs, captain Sikandar Raza scored 45 runs and Marumani scored 34 runs.

Earlier, Sri Lanka scored 178 runs for the loss of 7 wickets, match captain Patham Nissanka scored 66 runs against Australia and Pawan Rattananayake scored 44 runs.

The Zimbabwean team did not win in their group with 7 points.

Zimbabwe won three out of four matches when one match was rained out. Apart from Sri Lanka, they also defeated Australia and Oman.
