Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has raised his voice on the affairs of the national hockey team after the unsavory administrative treatment meted out to the players of the Pakistan hockey team in Australia.
Defense Minister Khawaja Asif made a statement on X and said that the Pakistan hockey team refused to play, until the hockey federation is cleared of political positions, the abuse of the players will continue.
Khawce Asif said that our political parties do not do politics as much as the hockey federation and this has been going on for years.
He said he ruined the national sport, someone should investigate his financial affairs. Inshallah, the issue will come up in the council and the relevant board.
It is worth mentioning that during the tour of Australia, a video of the substandard facilities for the players of the Pakistan hockey team was revealed, while the captain of the national hockey team, Imad Butt, said after returning home that we were provided with a substandard place, the boys continued to wash their dishes and clothes.
Imad Butt refused to work further with the current hockey administration and requested the Pakistan Hockey Federation to take immediate action on the matter as there is very little time left for the World Cup.
Pakistan’s hockey team will travel to Egypt two weeks later to play World Cup qualifiers. The qualifying round of the World Cup will be played in Egypt from March 1 to 7.
