Fourteen former international cricket captains have urged the Pakistan government to provide better facilities and proper medical care to former Pakistan captain Imran Khan in prison.
According to Australian media reports, former players have expressed their dismay over recent reports about the health of 73-year-old Imran Khan.
Former players have raised questions about Imran Khan’s eyesight and condition during his long imprisonment.
The petition was drafted by former Australian captain Greg Chappell and signed by several former captains of Australia, England, West Indies and New Zealand, including India’s Sunil Gavaskar and Kapil Dev.
This letter was sent to Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.

The former commanders said in their statement that the crisis teaches justice, respect and dignity, so a world-renowned figure like Imran Khan should receive basic human rights and be treated with dignity.
They demanded that Imran Khan should undergo urgent and continuous medical examination by specialist doctors of his choice, facilitate meeting with his family and complete legal processes in a transparent manner.
The statement noted that cricket has always served as a bridge between nations and the respect remains after the rivalry on the field is over.
