T20 World Cup: Afghanistan beat UAE by 5 wickets

Afghanistan defeated the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by 5 wickets in the 28th match of the ICCT World Twenty20.

In the match played at the Erin Jaitley stadium in Delhi, Afghanistan won and decided to bowl first, in response the UAE team scored 160 runs and lost 9 wickets.

Shoyeb Khan was the leading batsman for UAE with 68 runs off 48 balls with 6 fours and 4 sixes and Alishan Sharfu added 40 runs.

5 players of the UAE team could not enter with double figures, three of them returned to the pavilion with zero, and the remaining two players scored 3 and 3 runs.

On behalf of Afghanistan, Azmatullah dismissed 4 players, Muceebur Rehman took 2 wickets and captain Rashid Khan took 1 wicket.

Chasing the target of 161 runs, the Afghan team won the last over, Afghanistan’s opening batsman Rehmanullah Garbaz went for the wicket, but then Ibrahim Zadran scored 53 runs to give the team a better start.

Azmatullah Umerzai played a major role in the team’s success and scored 40 runs in 21 balls with 3 sixes and 2 fours.

The next match of this competition will be played today between England and Italy, and in the evening the teams of Australia and Sri Lanka will meet.
