Abhishek Sharma has been discharged from hospital, participation against Namibia will be decided before the match

Indian opener Abhishek Sharma has been discharged from hospital, but the final decision on his participation in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 match against Namibia will be taken before the match today.

It is worth mentioning that Abhishek Sharma was admitted to the hospital due to stomach infection and fever after reaching New Delhi.

Speaking to the media a day before the match against Namibia, Indian team player Tilak Verma said that Abhishek had to undergo some medical tests on arrival in New Delhi.

He said all the tests were fine, he was discharged from the hospital today. We have a day left before the match to assess his condition and decide whether he will be able to play or not.

On the other hand, pacer Jasprit Bumrah has also been declared fit after recovering from illness. According to Tilak Verma, Bumrah has been practicing with the team and his condition is improving.

It is worth mentioning that the defending champions India have been placed in Group A along with Pakistan, USA, Namibia and Netherlands. The Indian team started the action with a 29-run victory over America in their first match.
