In the ICCT World Cup, the Australian Cricket team suffered a major blow at the start of the tournament, with captain Mitchell Marsh out of the first match due to injury.

According to Cricket Australia, Mitchell Marsh has a groin injury and has been rested.

On the other hand, Steve Smith was called up as a backup for Sri Lanka. However, he is not a regular part of the T20 World Cup squad.

Cricket Australia says Steve Smith could be included in the squad if required.

In the absence of Mitchell Marsh, opener Travis Head will lead the team against Ireland today.
