On the request of the Sri Lankan president, Pakistan has agreed to play a group match against India in the T20 World Cup 2026. Both teams will play their Group A match on February 15 as per schedule.

Sources reveal that the teams of Pakistan and India will play according to the T20 schedule of the 2026 World Cup.

It is to be noted that Bangladesh have expressed security concerns for their team’s participation in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2026 in India and requested a change of venue, which was rejected by the ICC.

Bangladesh announced that they would withdraw from the event in protest, so instead of talking to Bangladesh, the ICC excluded Bangladesh from the event and included Scotland.

Later, Pakistan termed the Cricket Council’s move as a double standard and shocked the cricket world by announcing a boycott of the match against India in solidarity with Bangladesh.

Later, ICC tried to convince Pakistan and in this regard a long meeting of 4 hours was held between ICC Vice President, Bangladesh Cricket Board President and Pakistan Cricket Board President.

Earlier, the President of Sri Lanka contacted Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and requested him to end the boycott of the Pakistan team against India and allow the team to play the match.
