The International Cricket Council (ICC) has stepped up its efforts to celebrate Pakistan.
While trying to give Pakistan a match against India, ICC Vice President Imran Khawaja held an important meeting with PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi at the Gaddafi Stadium, where Bangladesh Cricket Board Chairman Aminul Islam was also present.
The sources reveal that after 4 hours of negotiations between the parties, it was decided to take a lunch break.
The talks will resume after the meal, all the three sides tried to conclude the talks, if the excesses from Bangladesh are fixed then the talks will be successful, Pakistan’s decision to play India or not is a matter later.
The sources revealed that the meetings at the central headquarters of the PCB continued for several hours, Mohsin Naqvi, Imran Khawaja and Bangladesh Cricket President Eminul Islam were also present in the meeting.
The agenda of the meeting was for Pakistan to play the round match against India in the T20 World Cup.
It is worth mentioning that Bangladesh had requested a change of venues for their participation in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2026 in India and had expressed security concerns for their team, which was rejected by the ICC.
Bangladesh announced that they would withdraw from the event in protest, so instead of talking to Bangladesh, the ICC excluded Bangladesh from the event and included Scotland.
Later, Pakistan termed the Cricket Council’s move as a double standard and shocked the cricket world by announcing a boycott of the match against India in solidarity with Bangladesh.
