The Pakistan government has banned the national team from playing the match against India in the ICCT Twenty20 World Cup on February 15, but Indian captain Surya Kumar Yadav has revealed that whether the match takes place or not, the Indian team will definitely travel to Colombo.
In the media briefing of the team captains in Mumbai before the ICCT World Twenty20, Surya Kumar Yadav said that the position of the Indian team is very clear, we did not refuse to play Pakistan, but they refused.
The Indian team captain said that the ICC made the schedule then the BCCI and the Indian government decided to play at a neutral venue with the advice of the ICC.
Talking about the team atmosphere for the match against Pakistan, Surya Kumar said that the team’s plan is very clear, first the match on February 7, then Namibia on February 12 and then travel to Colombo.
Surya Kumar Yadav said about the current situation that this decision is not in his hands, if we are asked to play on February 15, we will definitely play.
It is worth mentioning that the political tension between India and Pakistan also affected the game in the Asia Cup last year. At that time, on the instructions of the Indian government, the Indian team avoided shaking hands with the Pakistan team, while India, despite winning the Asia Cup, did not receive the trophy from ACC president and PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi.
